Brand Focus - Kind Bag
As an eco friendly member of the planet, you most likely own tonnes of reusable bags however Kind Bags are reusable bags with a difference. That being their brand story, values and mission to be Kind to the planet. They "create sustainable accessories uniquely designed to combat plastic pollution and drive change in the fashion industry."
How it started.
Kind Bag is a small, young and passionate company based in Hackney, London, established in 2019. The team of 4 (+1 dog) design every bag, develop new products and run every aspect of the UK company.
In 2019, founder Maria started Kind Bag with her own savings with a big mission to combat plastic pollution.
"Maria grew up in Tenerife, the Canary Islands surrounded by the beautiful ocean and developed an early appreciation of the natural world. Initially, a career in law beckoned, but Maria began to feel her calling lay elsewhere and it was following a stint of travelling around Asia, where her eyes were opened to the effects of plastic pollution. Although she had always been aware of environmental issues, this was her wake-up call."
Maria then focused all her efforts on designing a product that would help reduce the plastic mountain whilst also being attractive to everyone and thus Kind Bag was born.
Since then, Kind Bag has now rescued over 2.2 million plastic bottles from going to landfill and the ocean.
Kind Bag and circular fashion
With the world currently producing nearly 300 million tonnes of plastic each year, with a significant amount ended up in our oceans as well as an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste being produced, Kind Bag's mission become to " tackle both problems around plastic pollution and the wasteful apparel industry and bring positive influence to the fashion world and beyond"
Kind Bag is dedicated to circular fashion, the concept in which materials are prevented from going to landfill and instead re-used throughout the lifecycle. Kind Bag are "taking waste to create something beautiful and versatile, that can also be reused and recycled."
100% Recycled
According to Kind Bag's own website "Did you know single plastic bags have the average life of only 15 mins? Did you know 80% of plastic bottles we buy end up in landfill and it takes up to 1000 years for one bottle to decompose? To tackle this environmental issue, we decided to rescue these plastic bottles from going to landfill in order to reduce the use of single use plastic bags. We turn waste into beautiful, reusable and 100% recyclable bags to support your life to be a little kinder to the planet."
Eco Initiatives
Kind Bag's eco credentials don't stop at the product, in fact, they donate 1% of their sales to positive causes, whether they make a profit or not. Partnering with Work For Good, to donate 1% to four deserving organisations, doing great work for people, animals and the planet.
Just one ocean, WWF, Battersea dogs and cats home and Breast cancer haven all benefit from Kind Bags' generosity.

One of Kind Bags' goals is "to support your eco-friendly lifestyle without compromising your style." They create a wide variety of designs to suit everyone's unique, individual style.
Comfort and practicality
Wider straps mean the weight is distributed more evenly on your shoulder, and despite it's look there's a lot of room in there. Kind Bags have the capacity of 2-3 plastic carriers and can hold up to 20kg. The recycled material is super smooth too and empty bags weigh just 50g.
Kind Bags everywhere
Kind Bags come with an attached pouch making them easy to pop in your pocket or handbag. The pouch can be used to store small items like keys too. Kind Bags are also water-resistant meaning you're not limited to only using them when the sun shines.
