Wireless Magnetic Chargers Made From Plastic Waste

On my desk right now sit 4 different changers for various devices I use throughout the day, mobile phone, smart watch, laptop and ear buds case, all with various connectors to fit different devices but all with one thing in common, they're made from plastic.

High on my Christmas list this year is a wireless magnetic charger from Zero Waste Club that can charge most of my tech without all from one wire, one plug and therefore less plastic usage and I'll be able to send off my old, (mostly broken) traditional chargers to be recycled and repurposed.

Zero Waste Club's wireless chargers are made from recycled plastic at their Brighton workshop where they prototype new product ideas and even batch produce products too. The main material they work with is waste plastic bags, which are very hard to recycle normally and not accepted by councils in the UK for recycling. They save this hard-to-recycle material and turn it into everyday products for you to enjoy! They provide local creative people with opportunities to work with them in producing our sustainable product ranges.

The wireless chargers not only make use of waste plastic, they're sleek and stylish and are twice as fast as lightning cable chargers. They're able to charge any device that supports wireless charging such as iPhone 8 and above, most Samsung phones and accessories, and wireless ear buds such as Airpods.

The commitment to reducing plastic waste doesn't stop at the manufacturing stage, Zero Waste Club ask that should your charger fail or become broken, you return it to them so that they can fix any problems and at the end of your product's life, they will buy it back from you so that the components can be recycled into their next generation of products.

About Zero Waste Club.

Founded by two friends, Rishi and Pawan, who were feeling let down and frustrated by the damage being done to our planet, Zero Waste Club was born from a search by the friends to find answers. While the markets are changing slowly, they noticed that many products that are eco-friendly are given a luxury label. They also found that many products sold under the “eco” label tend to stretch the definition of sustainability. Thus they decided to start their own journey to produce truly sustainable, beautifully designed, ethical and vegan essentials at affordable prices.

They say "We want to do more than just make beautiful eco-friendly products. So we are going to make the most transparent, ethical, sustainable goods company on earth. Opening up our supply chain fully for everyone to see. To show that there is a nicer way to do business. Hopefully this will inspire other businesses to do the same."

As a company, they are fully transparent with their eco credentials and even state openly how they spend their profits. You can find out more about their sustainability on their website but in short;

  • They pay their makers a good wage
  • They show the story of each product's makers
  • They show where each product is made and the working conditions of their makers
  • No animals are harmed, killed or used. They also ensure the bamboo in their products doesn't come from animal habitats
  • They predict they have offset 100,000 single use plastics
  • They've planted over 100,000 trees

All in all we love Zero Waste Club for their ethics and their products. If you're looking for the perfect gift and something a little different go check out their products now.
